Tai Chi/Qigong

Meditative Movement

WHEN: Daily Monday – Friday (short class Wednesday) 8:00-9:00 am.

WHERE: Upstairs at The Old Gallery

WHAT: Typically about 10 minutes of gentle stretching and balance exercises followed by 20 minutes of Qigong and 30 minutes of Tai Chi. Emphasis is on daily practice of meditative movement and body awareness for health and well-being. All experience levels are welcome. Drop in and check it out!

Yoga At The Old Gallery

What Is Hatha Yoga?
Traditional hatha yoga is a holistic approach to exercise; including disciplines, postures, purification procedures, mudras, pranayama breathing, and meditation. Hatha is often considered as the base of all yoga styles – all other approaches branch out from Hatha. Qualified instruction is key (see below).

Why Practice Yoga
The benefits of yoga are many! It has been shown to:
• lower high blood pressure
• relieve tight and sore muscles
• increase flexibility (which makes all of life’s activities more enjoyable)
• build strength
• assist in one’s ability to focus attention, and brings an amazingly rewarding unity to body, mind and spirit. A known stress-reducing practice!

How Do I Get Started – Classes Are Available
First, there are no age/health restrictions; as yoga can be done at a wide variety of levels and to varying degrees. Everyone was a beginner at some point.

There are two options available, both are held at The Old Gallery (upstairs), 14863 Peak to Peak Highway, Allenspark, CO 80510:
Beginner/Gentle: 9:30 – 10:15 AM each Tuesday
Intermediate: 6:00 – 7:15 PM each Monday

Atmosphere of classes is fun and educational, with opportunities for being challenged to gain maximum value. Classes are each ~75 minutes. Mats, blocks, straps, blankets are provided (or bring your own if you prefer). Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing AND bring an empty stomach along with your water. Each class level has a nominal fee of $10/session or a 10-class pass can be purchased for $85.

A Bit About Peggy
My training was at Shoshoni Yoga Retreat Center in Rollinsville, CO. I received the 200 hour certification in 2006 and have been teaching consistently since that time. My personal yoga practice began more than 35 years ago! I am also a massage therapist since 2008, having trained at Crestone Healing Arts Center in Crestone, CO. I have found that these two therapies work extremely well together. I thoroughly enjoy and live the practice of Hatha yoga and look forward to sharing my enthusiasm with you.
