SUMMARY:Longs Peak Rescue A slideshow by Dick Smith\, former Longs Peak Ranger
DESCRIPTION:Dick’s presentation covers some interesting Longs Peak facts and stories\, including a slideshow and a first-hand accounting of the August\, 1968 Longs Peak Diamond rescue. \nAfter leaving the military\, he was hired as a seasonal ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park in charge of the Longs Peak Ranger station.  During Dick’s final year at Longs Peak\, he was involved with the rescue of a climber who had fallen on the Longs Peak Diamond.  The Diamond is the sheer and prominent east face of Longs Peak. It has a vertical gain of more than 900 feet\, all above an elevation of 13\,000 feet.  That rescue took over 24 hours and involved more than 40 rescue personnel. Until very recently\, it was the biggest and most involved rescue in the history of the park. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDate: June 25th\nTime: 4:00pm-6:00pm.\nCost: Free Event

Her personal Yoga practice began more than 35 years ago. Peggy enjoys and lives the practice of Hatha Yoga. \nMats\, blocks\, straps and blankets are provided (or bring your own if you prefer). Wear comfortable\, stretchy clothing and bring an empty stomach along with your water. Each class has a nominal fee of $12/session or a 10-class pass can be purchased for $100. SUMMARY:Takács String Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Takács String Quartet\nThe Grammy-winning Takács Quartet will perform again at The Old Gallery in Allenspark.  The famed quartet plays with a unique blend of drama\, warmth and humor\, combining four distinct musical personalities to bring fresh insights to the string quartet repertoire. It consists of Edward Dusinberre\, violin; Harumi Rhodes\, violin; Geraldine Walther\, viola; András Fejér\, cello. \nThe Quartet was formed in 1975 at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest by Gabor Takács-Nagy\, Károly Schranz\, Gabor Ormai and András Fejér\, while all four were students. The group received international attention in 1977\, winning First Prize and the Critics’ Prize at the International String Quartet Competition in Evian\, France. The Quartet also won the Gold Medal at the 1978 Portsmouth and Bordeaux Competitions and First Prizes at the Budapest International String Quartet Competition in 1978 and the Bratislava Competition in 1981.
