Martin Gilmore – Award Winning Folk, Americana, and Bluegrass Singer-Songwriter
Martin Gilmore is a Colorado-based songwriter and guitarist whose music bridges folk traditions with modern storytelling. He has earned recognition at the Kerrville New Folk Competition, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, and the Telluride Troubadour Contest, and was recently nominated for an IBMA Momentum Award for Mentorship. Whether performing on stage or teaching the next generation of musicians, Martin brings a deep love of American roots music to everything he does.

Cocktails and Crochet is back! Happy hour meets handmade charm – bring your latest project (or just your enthusiasm), sip something delightful, and stitch your way through an afternoon of good company and even better conversation. Whether you’re a crochet pro or still figuring out which loop is which, it’s the perfect excuse to unwind, create something cozy, and toast to the simple joy of yarn and adult beverages. This is a great opportunity to learn a new craft and get started with some help from some seasoned experts. ALL are welcome! If you crochet, knit, do needlepoint, weave, make quilts or just want to come for connection, you are invited!!

Grab your lunch and get ready to look at rocks and tree bark a little differently. Colorado has some of the wildest, most untouched landscapes in the West — but believe it or not, nobody’s ever done a full count of one of its smallest, toughest life forms: lichens. (Yes, those crusty, colorful patches you’ve walked past a thousand times without a second glance.)
Three years ago, a team set out to change that — combing the state’s mountains, plains, and everything in between to finally document Colorado’s lichen life. The results so far? Two brand-new species discovered and named for the first time ever, plus 32 species never before recorded in Colorado and 17 more so rare they’d only been spotted a handful of times previously.
Come hear the story of the hunt, meet the newest (tiny) Coloradans, and find out why these unassuming organisms matter more than you’d think. No science background required — just curiosity and an appetite (for lunch, and new knowledge)!

This is a great time to swing in and meet the artists, watch some live demos, and talk to them about their specialties. It is that magical time of year when the aspens are changing and you feel like you can slow down a little and enjoy those fall days. Rocky Mountain National Park’s story isn’t just rocks and wildlife — it’s people, too. Come hear about Yaye Kato, a Japanese woman who ran a tea house near Tuxedo Park, alongside the more familiar story of Anna Wolfram’s Wigwam Tea House. Hidden histories like the Kato family’s remind us there’s always more to uncover. Their story broadens our cultural perspective of both Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Piecing it together takes historians, archaeologists, and park folks all working together.Â
Bring an instrument, bring your voice, or just bring yourself — our Open Music Jam & Song Circle is a low-key hangout for folks who love making music together. Whether you’ve been playing for decades or just picked up a guitar last week, pull up a chair and join in for good company and good tunes. All skill levels, all instruments, all welcome.Â
No costume too weird, no chili too spicy, no karaoke song too questionable — our Spooktacular Bash welcomes it all. Enter the chili cookoff, show off your costume, sing your heart out at karaoke, or hop on the open mic. Come as you are (or as a ghost, we don’t judge). Everyone’s invited to join the fun!Â
Please note: As The Old Gallery is a nonprofit, musicians that perform here often play for a significantly reduced fee or no fee at all. It is our goal to offer area residents and visitors this high-quality entertainment without the long drive to the front range. Therefore, The Old Gallery is happy to allow these very talented musicians to ask for tips from those that attend and appreciate their performance. Tipping is completely optional but highly recommended. Please thank the artists for their efforts and tip generously.

Everyone’s invited to the table! Join us for our community Potluck Suppers – a chance to enjoy delicious food, friendly company, and the joy of sharing a homemade meal. Bring a dish inspired by the season (or any personal favorite!) and come gather with neighbors and new friends alike. Whether you’re a master chef or a grocery-store-hero, your contribution is welcome and appreciated. Supper starts at 6:00pm, so arrive a little early to get set up.
This month we’re keeping it seasonal, so bring your favorite summery dish celebrating the 4th of July.  BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat): Just like last month, the grill will be hot and Tony is ready to barbecue!
Let’s fill the room with good flavors, good laughter, and a strong sense of community. We can’t wait to share a meal with you!
