Whether you’re a longtime resident, newcomer or visitor to our mountain community, we hope you’ll join us for one (or many!) of our outstanding events. We also invite you to get even closer to the action by volunteering for an event or submitting an idea for a new one. Contact info@theoldgallery.org.

Calling all young explorers in grades 2 through 5 – Bear Tracks is the adventure you won’t want to miss! Kids will dive into the fascinating world of our local black bears, learning all about their behavior, habits, and favorite foods, plus important tips for staying safe in bear country. The fun doesn’t stop at the lesson – kids will also get to play a bear-themed game and take home a one-of-a-kind craft. It’s a wild, hands-on experience that will leave your kids buzzing with bear facts and big smiles.
**At least one adult per family is required to stay throughout the program.

Do you know what really belongs in the recycling bin? If you’ve ever wondered whether that greasy pizza box, plastic clamshell, or Styrofoam cup belongs in the trash or the bin – you’re not alone. This is your chance to get clear answers and ask your own recycling questions. Plus, by learning all the great recycling facts we can keep Derek and Scott from going nuts this summer, sorting the trash out of the recycling bins at the Allenspark Transfer Station. If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend previous Trash Talks, please come – this is a very insightful evening about how our waste is managed and turned into something useful.

Speaker: Rachel Billings, PhD student, CU Boulder Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
This lunchtime learning opportunity is in partnership with Lunch Bunch and Allenspark Community Church and will be held at 16 Washington St.
Pika are tiny, vocal mammals living high in the Rocky Mountains. They’re not only adorable — they’re also at the center of a fascinating scientific mystery! Join us for an engaging talk about the American pika and some surprising research happening right in our backyard at Rocky Mountain National Park. Come learn what the pikas of Rocky Mountain National Park are telling us — one tiny squeak at a time!

The spindles are back and so are we! Join us for Fiber Spinning Class Part 2, where we’ll build on what we learned and dive deeper into the meditative, joyful art of turning raw fiber into beautiful yarn. Whether you’re still untangling the basics or ready to experiment with new fibers and techniques, this is a welcoming space to learn, and make something with your own two hands. Bring your drop spindle, your curiosity, and maybe a friend — the best part of spinning is doing it together.

Fire up your patriotic spirit and join us for a 4th of July Community Picnic right here at The Old Gallery! Start the morning by dropping off your favorite non-refrigerated side dish at 9:30am, then head over to the corner by the Post Office to cheer on the parade starting at 11am. Once the last float rolls by, meet us back at The Old Gallery for a good old-fashioned community feast — free hotdogs included, courtesy of the Allenspark Area Club!
Saturday, July 4th, immediately following the parade.

Bring a side dish to share.

There’s nothing quite like live music on a summer afternoon, and this one is extra special. On July 8th and 22nd, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Rocky Ridge Music Center brings their talented summer camp students to The Old Gallery for a free concert that’s sure to delight. Come cheer on the next generation of musicians and soak up every note.

Cocktails and Crochet is back! Happy hour meets handmade charm – bring your latest project (or just your enthusiasm), sip something delightful, and stitch your way through an afternoon of good company and even better conversation. Whether you’re a crochet pro or still figuring out which loop is which, it’s the perfect excuse to unwind, create something cozy, and toast to the simple joy of yarn and adult beverages. This is a great opportunity to learn a new craft and get started with some help from some seasoned experts. ALL are welcome! If you crochet, knit, do needlepoint, weave, make quilts or just want to come for connection, you are invited!!
This event is proudly co-sponsored by the lovely members of the Hilltop Guild – who believe a good yarn pairs best with a good cocktail.

This fascinating community presentation pulls back the curtain on one of our most misunderstood neighbors. Learn how coyotes communicate, raise their families, stake out their territory, and adapt their behavior through the seasons.
We’ll also bust a few common myths and dig into the vital role coyotes play in keeping our local ecosystem in balance. And the practical stuff? We’ve got that covered too — you’ll walk away with real, science-backed tips for keeping your pets, and livestock coexisting with the coyotes in our backyard. Come in curious, leave with a whole new appreciation for the wild side of our community.

There’s something about a well-crafted cocktail that makes everything a little more fun – and we’ve got just the person for the job. Join us for Community Cocktail Hour, where Jen Kawata works her magic behind the bar and the rest of us do what we do best: laugh, connect, and enjoy each other’s company. New faces and familiar ones are equally welcome. Come as you are, stay as long as you like.
Please note: As The Old Gallery is a nonprofit, musicians that perform here often play for a significantly reduced fee or no fee at all. It is our goal to offer area residents and visitors this high-quality entertainment without the long drive to the front range. Therefore, The Old Gallery is happy to allow these very talented musicians to ask for tips from those that attend and appreciate their performance. Tipping is completely optional but highly recommended. Please thank the artists for their efforts and tip generously.

Whether you’re a master chef or a grocery-store-hero, your contribution is welcome and appreciated. Supper starts at 6:00pm, so arrive a little early to get set up.
This month we’re keeping it seasonal, so bring your favorite summery dish celebrating the 4th of July. BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat): Just like last month, the grill will be hot and Tony is ready to barbecue!
Let’s fill the room with good flavors, good laughter, and a strong sense of community. We can’t wait to share a meal with you!
